Isis Fahmy graduated from Sciences Po Aix and gained a Master’s degree in Stage Direction from La Manufacture, where is currently working as a research fellow. A stage director and playwright, she is the founder of the [IF] company in French-speaking Switzerland. Philosophy, experimental music, new technologies, texts and bodies all meet in her porous approach to theatre. Fahmy’s projects present themselves to the public in the form of sound installations; of performances taking place in theatres (Festival de la Bâtie, POCHE/Genève, Théâtre Saint-Gervais, Théâtre Olympia in Tours, France) as well as within the urban space (Artellewa in Cairo, Lausanne’s Festival de la Cité). Fahmy’s creative process produces forms which share and articulate its various research steps with spectators, generally over several years and with mixed teams of creators she personally chooses.
