Biography
Philippe Stoll heads the Communication and Research team at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). In his 19 years of humanitarian experience, Philippe has managed public and media relations for Asia and the Pacific at ICRC Headquarters in Geneva, and done field missions in India, Sierra Leone and Israel and the Occupied Territories. Passionate for innovation and the impact of new technologies on the humanitarian sector, his current focus is on communication strategies and policies, and touches on art, anthropology, acceptance, proximity and trust.
Born in Hong Kong, Stoll holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Geneva, and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Lausanne. Prior to joining the ICRC in 2003, he spent six years working as a journalist for print and online media.
He is also active in the Swiss French cultural scene and has collaborated with Kid Chocolat and Poor Records, Pascal Greco and the Musée de l’Elysée. He is a member of the jury of the HEAD-ICRC-Red Cross of Geneva Art and Humanity Award.
