Dr Lynne Cooke is Senior Curator, Special Projects in Modern Art at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, where she curated Outliers and American Vanguard Art in 2018. Among many exhibitions she has helmed on Modern and contemporary art are James Castle: Show and Store, 2011, and Rosemarie Trockel: Cosmos, both of which featured the work of autodidacts. Her extensive writings include essays on Martin Ramirez, and Judith Scott.
