Biography
Trained in curatorial studies and specialized in exhibition history, Marie-laure Allain Bonilla holds a PhD in contemporary art history from the University of Rennes 2. For her thesis, she was interested in the uses of postcolonial theories in the curatorial practices of contemporary art from the 1980s to 2015. Her current research focuses on the politics of museum acquisition in the era of globalization and the strategies put in place to decolonize institutional practices, particularly collaborations, both in the West and in formerly colonized countries.
