Biography
Lysianne Léchot Hirt joined the HEAD-Genève in 2003 and has been the school’s Education Coordinator since 2012. Before this, she ran the Geneva University’s Office of cultural activities (2000-2003) and collaborated for 13 years with the Centre Pour L’Image Contemporaine de Genève (CIC) (1987-2000) where she was in charge of the artists videos collection.
Léchot Hirt’s current research deals with design history and theory. She has managed projects financed by the Swiss Confederation Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI) and by the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland’ s Design and Visual Arts Proficiencies Network.
Léchot Hirt took part in the publication of Beyond Design Ethnography. How designers practice ethnographic research, under the supervision of Nicolas Nova, Berlin: SHS Publishing, 2014. She is the author of Recherche-création en design. Modèles pour une pratique expérimentale. Geneva: Metis Presses, 2010 and of Espace public et mobilier urbain. Une recherche-projet en design. Geneva: HEAD, 2011. Léchot Hirt publishes and regularly gives lectures at various international research symposiums.
